Important information about increased risk of power cuts in this area Last night, part of the electricity network serving this area was damaged due to metal theft. This means there is currently an increased risk of residents' property being impacted by a power cuts.

“Our engineers have been on site since last night, working as quickly as possible to repair the damage and minimise the risk of disruption. We’re also working closely with the police as they continue their investigation into the incident.

While your electricity supply remains on, we wanted to make you aware of the increased risk of a power cut due to this incident and let you know if your power is interrupted, we’ll keep you informed through text messages and email updates wherever possible. You’ll find advice on preparing for a power cut at northernpowergrid.com/be-prepared.

We understand this may be concerning, particularly if you rely on electricity for medical equipment or you have care needs. While our teams are ready to provide support if required, we encourage you to make sure you are prepared and, where appropriate, contact your medical equipment provider to discuss alternative arrangements. If you’re registered as a Priority Services Membership customer, we’ll provide additional support during and after a power cut.
