Letcliffe Park

Letcliffe Park, established in 1902, is one of Barnoldswick’s best-loved green spaces. Its formal gardens, children’s play area, woodland, wildlife areas, sculpture trail and bandstand make it a popular destination for families, walkers and those seeking peaceful surroundings. The park also benefits from impressive views across Barnoldswick and the surrounding West Craven countryside.

Disabled Access

Some of the footpaths and walkways in the park are suitable for people with low mobility. Some paths can be steep.

Play area

There are eight pieces of equipment including disabled access swings:

• Infant: suitable for 3-to-5-year-olds
• Junior: suitable for 5-to-14-year-olds

Victory Park

Victory Park provides a valuable hub for sport and outdoor recreation, with facilities including football, cricket, tennis and a skate park. Created following the First World War, it also has an important place in the town’s history and community life.

Disabled Access

Almost all the footpaths are suitable for people with low mobility. The playground offers facilities for disabled users and disabled toilet facilities are available inside the pavilion.

• Infant: suitable for 4-to-5-year-olds
• Junior: suitable for 5-to-12-year-olds

Sports facilities

• Two adult football pitches (11-a-side)
• One adult football pitch (9-a-side, inside 11-a-side pitch 2)
• One junior football pitch (7-a-side)
• One junior pitch (5-a-side, inside 7-a-side pitch)
• Skate Park: suitable for 8-year-olds to adult
• Adult rugby pitch
• Training football pitch leased to West Craven Warriors

Valley Gardens

Valley Gardens offers another much-loved green oasis, incorporating a stream and historic mill race alongside areas for wildlife and informal recreation. Once a dilapidated small open space, it now features a children’s play area with disabled-access swings, picnic area, scenic woodland walks along Butts Beck and traffic-free pedestrian bridges linking local residential areas and schools.

Valley Gardens Park was first awarded a Green Flag in 2008 and has maintained its flag ever since. Thanks to a dedicated group of enthusiastic volunteers, the park has been transformed into the exciting green space we have today.
