Town Square

Barnoldswick’s Town Square is the heart of the town, providing an attractive, pedestrian-friendly public space surrounded by independent shops, cafés and community facilities.

The square occupies the site of the former Co-operative department store, which was demolished in 1990 as part of the town centre’s regeneration. Today, it features seating, trees, flower beds and landscaped areas, creating a welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.

Throughout the year, the Town Square hosts a variety of events, including live entertainment, seasonal celebrations and the annual Christmas lights switch-on, making it an important focal point for community life and local commerce.
